Product Description

Even if your pockets don't overflow with dough, KICKER can still provide the best bass for the buck. The Comp Subwoofer represents the best balance between high value and high performance available in today's round-subwoofer market. It's equipped with all the proven KICKER engineering that you expect, and it's got a new look that leaves the impression that it has a mean streak.

The best bass for the buck. Click to enlarge.

Highly engineered top plates. Click to enlarge.

Rigid back bracing completely eliminates distortion. Click to enlarge.

Besides its wicked good looks, the Comp comes with serious muscle, including double stitching on the surround, coil-cooling perimeter venting, and flex-killing ISD (Inverted Structural Dome). The Comp is versatile too, performing in free-air applications as well as in vented or sealed boxes. If all this wasn't enough, the Comp still leaves you with enough cash left over to throw down on a powerful KICKER amplifier to pump all the performance from your sub.

The rigid cone's back bracing completely eliminates distortion, allowing the best bass to be delivered. The larger voice coils, coil wire with intense heat tolerance, highly engineered top plates, and immense power handling still remain, providing the most and best bass from any subwoofer in its class. And here's another first from KICKER--Spiralead tinsel-lead technology for even more strength and durability.

With prices going up on everything else around, the Comp makes perfect sense for any factory upgrade. With the ribbed surround, yellow stitching, nickel-plated push terminals, and a basket design that includes a stylish logo trim ring, the Comp looks as good as it sounds and lets you know who's in the house.

Four sizes are available, ranging from an 8-inch to an extremely affordable and loud 15-inch.

A high-quality subwoofer

Review Date: January 10, 2010

Needed to replaced the blown speaker in my Fender 115SA DJ subwoofer on short notice. No pro audio shop around had a 15" woofer in stock, so I gambled and tried a car audio store. Luckily, he had a Kicker C15 in an 8 ohm version. After installing it in the cabinet and powering it up, I noticed a world of difference compared to the paper cone woofer I was used to hearing. The bass felt deeper and sounded more responsive; not as muddy or muffled.

I really like the rubber surround and the poly cone. It makes it moisture resistant which is important when you DJ outside. If this is Kicker's entry-level speaker, I would love to hear what their other stuff is like!

Bought 2 of em for $80 each and they pack one heck of a punch for 250/500 Watts RMS, not costly and if you are looking for bang for the buck, these are the way to go.

Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description In 2008 the newest KICKER Solo-Baric L7 Subwoofer remains one of the most capable subwoofers on Earth, with great looks and great sound. And it's the only patented one that provides more cone, more air, and more decibels.

Pushes more air and creates louder bass than any like-size round subwoofer. Click to enlarge.

New solid pole piece that disperses more heat than ever before. Click to enlarge.

One-piece, injection-molded cone with full-coverage back bracing. Click to enlarge.

KICKER engineers left it all on the table for this redesigned Solo-Baric L7, taking cues from the award-winning original that debuted as groundbreaking at the turn of the millennium, and then improving on them. Let there be no doubt, it's the most complete KICKER subwoofer ever developed.

Available in 8-, 10-, 12-, and 15-inch models, the Solo-Baric L7 still revolves around the breakthrough SoloKon, the one-piece, injection-molded cone with full-coverage back bracing that pushes more air and creates louder bass than any like-size round subwoofer. It's good enough that KICKER uses SoloKon across the board as the cornerstone for each subwoofer in the KICKER bass-making family.

SoloKon may be a rock star, but it's the unshakeable motor structure behind the scenes that propels it to the forefront. Minor tweaks have given the motor an outstanding rep--dual high-temp voice coils, poly-cotton semi-progressive spider, Spiralead tinsel-lead technology, highly-efficient UniPlate pole-piece/back plate, and a heat-reducing T-cut top plate for enormous power handling. And it's never been cooler with a new solid pole piece that disperses more heat than ever before, and more venting near the SoloKon back brace and spider landing.

The distinctive cast-aluminum basket with spring-loaded terminals wraps around and protects these specialized inner workings, with the Solo-Baric crest branded into the back plate.

The Solo-Baric L7 remains available in 2-Ohm or 4-Ohm DVC and conducts business from a sealed or vented box application.

I have never seen or heard a kicker sub sounding bad. This solo baric 15 will beat any 10 inch round speaker money can buy. This speaker hits hard. Highly recommended.

Bottom line this sub pounds. Have you ever been sitting in traffic, at a stop light and felt bass from someone else's car? You start wondering who or why, would anybody play music that loud. Why should I have to hear this Stuff or it's to early for that crap. These are the subs that will get that reation from all us old farts out there. Not sure why people need to be heard before they are seen, but these things can be heard blocks away. My son bought one of these and as a father& son project we built a bandpass box tuned at 35hrz. The box is just a little over 3cu ft. I can now hear him turning into my subdivision. When I first heard how loud it was, I told him, I would take it out of his car at the first neigbhor compliant or noise ticket. I can acutally hear him coming into the subdivision and then turning it down. I asked him were he was when he turned it down, and it is a little over a half mile (measured in my car). As for pure audio files like myself, I would never, ever, have this. The bass is just way to over powering. You find yourself bracing for every hit. If you like being heard way before you are seen than this is the speaker to get. For the price of two good twelves you can get one 15 and Bang Bang Bang. Build a ported box/ Get a high powered amp, (we used a High-pfonics brutus 2000 watt amp, wired the speaker to one ohm, get good clean power, 4gauge or lower to a capicitor, and let fun begin.
I hope this helps some one on the fence, I know my son was for a long time. Two twelves or this thing. Which brand speaker what amp? and so on.

I only gave it four stars, because I just don't see the reason for something like this.
amazon is great! suare subs suck
