Most people today spend hours driving to and from school or work each week. They find themselves with a commute which they cannot change. Although they have to travel each day, that doesn’t mean they can’t be productive while traveling or at least enjoy the time spent on the road. Another fact is that more and more people today own an Apple iPod mp3 player.Â
Of course most everyone bought the iPod for the capability of playing your favorite music but there are many other uses of this great invention. College students can record their class lectures and transform them to mp3 format and play them back via their iPod mp3 player. In fact, there are thousands of books are available on cd in mp3 format today also. Obviously there is a huge variety of music which can be downloaded as single songs and full albums for your mp3 players also. You’ll be amazed at the huge variety of ipod mp3 player accessories available.
As most cars today have better then average sounding audio systems, it would be great to be able to play your recorded lectures or music through your car sound system. A few years back you could spend a day searching specialty stores looking for the right ipod car adapter for your specific vehicle, but those days are over. I’ve found a website which offers great ipod adapter information as well as the largest variety of iPod mp3 music adapters and accessories I’ve ever seen.
Finding the correct mp3 music player adapter isn’t very difficult. If you have an after market receiver like Clarion or Pioneer, just select the correct brand ipod adpater. Of course if you have the original manufacturer’s receiver, just find an adapter made for your specific vehicle be it Ford or Honda or whatever. This is actually quite easy when you have access to a good variety of brands. You will find vehicle specific adapters made by USA Spec, Soundgate and various other manufactures to apply to just about any brand of car or truck.
Once you get your ipod adapter, you’ll be able to listen to your favorite music, audiobooks, lectures, podcasts and more right through your car’s sound system. Your commute will become more productive and enjoyable and will seem much shorter.

When I was a kid growing up on the Jersey shore, I recall there hardly was a day that went by in the summer when I wasn’t out on someone’s boat. Back when gas was cheap, we’d spend all day long riding on the local bays and rivers}. In those days, the only option for music was bringing along a decent portable transistor radio. Boy how things have changed since those simple times. Today most boat audio systems would compete with your high end car or truck’s sound system. In fact the huge range of available marine accessories and especially boat electronics can be a bit over whelming.Â
Today it would be near impossible to find yourself on someone’s boat which didn’t have a good stereo system. The single biggest mistake that boat owners make is buying a standard auto sound system and installing it into their boat using the same installation techniques they used when they upgraded their car’s sound system. This usually proves to be a complete waste of their hard earned money since standard mobile audio and video products are not made to stand up to the harsh marine environment. Just speak to any sales person in a custom car sound shop along any shore area and see how many customers come in with receivers or speakers completely ruined after one season of use in their boats. Don’t make that mistake, when installing a video or audio system in a boat, always be sure to spend a few bucks more and buy marine grade electronics. You will find excellent prices and selection of all boat accessories online
Today’s boat receivers are capable of playing CD’s, MP3, WMA files and many will receive satellite radio and have connections for your MP3 player as well. Remember that unlike the relatively controlled sound level in your car or truck, the boat environment has a lot of competing noise to overcome. In most cases you’ll see the wisdom of installing an audio power amplifier to provide your speakers enough power to overcome the noisy boat environment.
Although these audio and video components might be called marine grade, you should be aware that this usually means the products are made with materials that will prohibit corrosion and they are not really water proof. So care has to be given as to the location of your installation. This is a good reason to consider the wired remote control units which enables the amplifier and receiver to be mounted inside a cabin while the remote can be outside where you spend most of your time. Of course your speakers have to be out on deck as well since this is where most of your time will be spent. So care should be taken to install them in locations where they will not be exposed to constant splashing from waves. If you intend on installing a good audio system in your boat, be sure to click through and read the entire article on Selecting a Boat Audio System.

Over the years we’ve sold a ton of sound deadening products in all shapes and sizes. It seems about 80% or better or our customers report that dynamat xTreme is still the favorite. It is relatively fast and easy to install with a minimum of hand tools. The bulk pack will always provide you with the best bang for your buck.Â
If you are going to take the time and spend the money on any decent speakers, then you really should consider sound damping. Get the most from your hardware investment. You won’t believe the difference sound damping will make on your ride’s sound system.
